Tequila My Cappuccino

Give Some Yin to my Yang

Photo by Dainis Graveris on Unsplash

In the beginning
just skim my surface
delight in the frothy milk
atop my simmering cappuccino
lap the sweet silk
off my glistening skin

When the state director says
let there be latte
stir in some vanilla
drip some honey
from your pot

French press
yes, I said press
that strong cold brew
simmering beneath my skin
delve in deeper
really try to clean my cup
however you can
just don’t miss a drop
of my golden petals

There’s more than enough
mine and yours
to swirl
tongue in cheek
before reaching that bitter
skeletal cappuccino
skin of my skin
bone of my bones
moan of my scream

But warn me
so I’m prepared
for that sugar high
onslaught of sweet
give some yin to my yang
night to my day
chill to my wake

Tequila my cappuccino
I can swallow it all
only if you
squeeze your sour
wedge it
in my mouth
let beaded droplets meander
down my chin languidly
before gagging me
with your salt
watch me smack my thirsty lips
when you finish

Then move on
to the next fix for
It’s hard to share
my real self
when my mouth is full
seams bursting
so find another pretty soul
whose cup yearns to be infused
by sweet
by sour
by yin
by yang

But please don’t forget
to tequila my cappuccino
