I write poetry about love and loss, what I observe, experience, and pine for. I’m an acrobat, yogi & mom. My writing has been described as resiliently defiant.

undress me
first
with your eyes
gaze at my bared soul
with your intent
drill into the labyrinths
of my cerebrum
deconstruct the
lyrics of my whimsy
serenade every curve
pierce my loins
with your stare
full throttle through
my amber flickering eyes
a window
disrobing my soul

~

graze your fingers
first
across my cheek
titillate my lips
as we kiss
birthing goosebumps
as my open mouth squeals
in anticipation
tuck my wild tresses
behind my ears
as you cradle my
my sacred face
in profane prayer

~

make my sweet figa swell untouched first with just your words…

13 February 2021 Saturday Poetry Prompt: insomnia

Photo by Juan Carlos Trujillo on Unsplash

Trammeled to my Queen-sized headboard
no key to jimmy
these handcuffs off til the cock crows
blindfolded by prematurely shut eyes
willing sleep
a frenzied wish
a journey to the most picturesque mirage
the slumbering synapses of my mind may spawn
Alas! …

Let everyday be Monday

Photo by Kym MacKinnon on Unsplash

Blue me a love song
polka dot my soul
with this Ombre shade of hope
hum sapphire lullabies
I can see as I slumber
in that Indigo hour
before midnight escorts
me into your arms, my love.

~

Confetti me a gala
periwinkle my heart with
a dash of skyblue
where our familiar dance sprinkles
cornflower balloons
from the heavens
every pop a giggle
of joy, my love.

~

Needle me a spruce simmer my journey to that once in a blue moon let everyday be Monday nourish my mind and body with your Crayola treasure trove as I scale…

— The Duplex Monthly Prompt №1: April

Photo by Lucas Benjamin on Unsplash

~Kiss me and you will see how important I am- Sylvia Plath

Lap up liquid gold of my mind
A kiss like yours is so hard to find

Tracing those lips I’m hard pressed to find
A Russian Roulette left simply to chance

This love Roulette left simply to chance
High stakes raise this pot of romance

Blue eyes, vast sea, gaze at my lips
My eyes, a window to my mouth, take a sip

Please swallow my soul and take a dip
As clouds like waves ripple across my sky

Your stories scatter paint across my sky As we…

Luminous Delight

Photo by Marek Piwnicki on Unsplash

Crescent moon
oh, crescent moon
oh, where art thou
lunar gal?
Lunar gal
oh, wispy vowel
coy mistress of the night
fair or foul.

Loquacious Moon
you’ll be found
nimble, new
amongst kite nouns
wispy windy
tightrope traipsing
tempting Venus
and her highness
the creamy milky way
with your wisdom
your wit
and sly-as-a fox ways.

Philander
surrender
dance asunder
if you must
in this
Merry-go-round
chocolate-glue sky
a grandiose trek
to the heavens or bust
dizzy and delirious
before donning that
full-moon frock
fat clothes
full throttle.

Play hide and seek amongst branches of these rogue trees while you…

10 April Saturday poetry prompt: repeatable

Photo by Mark Basarab on Unsplash

I dream that I have burning hair
Boiled arms that claw the air
The torso of an iron king
And on my back a broken wing
~ from The Shrouded Stranger, Allen Ginsberg New York 1949–1951

I dream that you are two again
soft on my lap beg for a swim
The slide invites us to climb up
Then abruptly I wake up.

Memories fade as time proceeds
Hoping you still think of me
Eyes like windows in grey night
Did you ever see the light?

Cold flesh is hard on my last touch Folded in your lap hands are such…

07 April 2021 Wednesday Prose Poem: the colour says it all

Petals gasping, skydiving to lonely soil amid the chanting —he loves me, he loves me not — conjuring up another airdrop to lap up the dews of tomorrow

lemon lime stamen sways patiently waiting at the intersection for the light to turn green, while the pupil dilated pulled inside out and pebbles drip

aquamarine tears into my ears gazing where the blood flows, meandering through chambers of time, place and revolution before gushing through

aromatic buttercup sand, a panting mirage heart galloping to that Triple Crown, dust whirling, manes dripping honey and amber torching beauty and grace despite

gleaming jewels…

Look, angels tread water in the sky

Photo by Nattu Adnan on Unsplash

Roll, crash, fizz, bubble
as the ocean tide recedes
bald shore now an empty slate
a brand new day

the quickening sound of jazzy waves
hip-hop across crunchy shore
a new day
festive with energy

surf sways to a nameless dance
a new day undulates
as the rising salty swell
swirls a bluegrey stone soup

a brand new day
tide high and mighty
a torrent of power creeps while
windblow caresses thirsty skin

waves break too quickly to count
sand and water mix as gracefully
as a baker kneads bread
alas a new day

seawater shocks toes toasty with summer…
